Dear Friends,

Cruising on these spectacular Celebrity Cruise ships is the most wonderful way to travel in comfort and ease and well-being and excellence. Our cruises provide exposure to the best things in the world and open doors for even more personal exploration of our world—if you choose!

I love getting on-board, unpacking one time only, settling in, and then discovering all of the delicious rendezvous that being together onboard provides. I love the extended hours we have with Abraham in the ship theater and the new insights and clarity that always erupts because we have the luxury of more time to pursue ideas.

New experiences! New thoughts! New evolution! New life! New me! Every time!

This cruise is especially exciting because we’ve never done this itinerary before and there are so many spectacular ports! AND, we depart from beautiful Amsterdam! Oh my! We have chosen the perfect time to be in this beautiful part of the world with long summer nights, Abraham, and each other!

Love,
Esther
(and Abraham and Jerry)

Ports of Call and
Cruising Highlights

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam, the beautiful and commercial capital of the Netherlands, has the wonderful atmosphere of a 17th-century city combined with the contemporary character of a modern metropolis. It is a treasure chest of superb architecture and is famous for its canals and extraordinary museums, including the world-renowned Van Gogh Museum. One of Amsterdam’s oldest industries is diamond cutting and polishing. These skills, introduced by Jewish refugees from Portugal and Spain in the 1580s, have made Amsterdam the leading diamond market of the world. The historic and picturesque canals have fascinated visitors for centuries, and the city’s provocative red-light district and its many coffee shops help create a unique city that draws more than 5 million tourists annually.

Helsinki, Finland

Finland’s waterfront capital city is filled with captivating sights and friendly charm. Occupying a peninsula and several islands, this city’s stunning structures surround some of the most spectacular bays you could ever hope to find. Stroll down broad, tree-lined streets, or take in the amazing neo-classically designed architecture. Helsinki is a compact city easily explored on foot. Design, culture, and shopping are all great exploration aspects of this city, and large park areas, forests, lakes, and the coastline make certain there’s no shortage of natural beauty. Visit the famed littala Glass Works and nearby Hameenlinna Castle, which has a history dating back to the 13th Century. Broad boulevards and elegant shops await you along with a variety of interesting museums.

St. Petersburg, Russia

Although reportedly built to resemble such Western cities as London, Paris, and Vienna, one look at St. Petersburg’s regal palaces and vast public squares is enough to tell you that it is truly in a class of its own. This grand city has always been entrenched and largely defined by its waterways. The Neva River runs through this fascinating city at every turn, necessitating the building of some 342 bridges to navigate pedestrian, motorist and boat traffic. Dubbed ‘The Venice of The North’, there’s a wealth of history and culture to experience on this overnight stay. Attend a folkloric show or ballet or tour the world-famous Hermitage museum, former home of the Czars and now housing a renowned collection of art and antiquities. Peter the Great, from whom the city gets its namesake, sought to make St. Petersburg the imperial seat of Russia and a showcase city built largely by the best European architects that money could buy and his vision is still very much preserved throughout every inch of this memorable city. Two full days will give you ample time to explore the magnificent imperial “City of White Lights”, from the gold-domed St. Isaac’s Cathedral to the Grand Palace of Peter the Great.

Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn has remained remarkably unchanged since its founding in 1154 A.D. and is among the oldest cities on the Baltic Sea. The preservation of this city’s old-world charm enables visitors to enjoy architectural marvels of centuries past, such as the soaring towers of Toompea Castle and the exquisite Russian Orthodox Cathedral. The exception is the delightfully modern pink Parliament building, visible from Palace Square. Tallinn stands as one of the most exciting cities of the former Soviet Union. Here, ancient church spires and baroque architecture intermingle with modern glass buildings that echo the many influences and cultures that have left their imprint throughout the centuries. There are so many amazing sites to explore. Visit the imaginative Estonian Open-Air Museum, where ancient structures are arranged among the trees complete with actors in period garb. Tallinn is one of Europe’s best-preserved cities.

Stockholm, Sweden

A city of parks and palaces, Sweden’s capital is built on a group of small islands with interconnecting waterways – each has its own unique and historic character. No fewer than 50 bridges connect this city to the 14 islands surrounding it. The country is modern, dynamic, and ever evolving. It may be liberal and forward-looking when it comes to the collective attitude, but it’s rich in history too. Visit the many parks, museums, and palaces or make your way through Gamla Stan, or Old Town, packed with historic buildings, shops, and cafés. Tour the 600 room Baroque Royal Palace and surrounding medieval alleys, and the world’s first open-air museum, Skansen, located on the island of Royal Djurgården. The Vasa Ship Museum is very impressive and houses the world’s oldest preserved war vessel in the world.

Aarhus, Denmark

Aarhus has long labored in the shadow of the capital Copenhagen, but it is transforming into a league of its own. Denmark’s second-largest city is busy staking a claim for visitor attention and building a reputation as an emerging European destination for savvy city-breakers, festival-goers, art and food fans. In 2017 its titles included European Capital of Culture and European Region of Gastronomy (the latter was awarded to Aarhus and the larger central Denmark region). The ever-expanding menu of architectural landmarks, lauded restaurants, bars, and boutiques is a mark of a vibrant city on the rise. It’s a great place to explore on your cruise – compact, photogenic and friendly. Den Gamle By – The Old Town Museum is where history becomes alive, the ARoS Art Museum is internationally recognized and admired, and in the Moesgaard Museum archaeology and ethnography is presented innovatively in a breathtaking architectural setting. Of course, there is also the amusement park Tivoli Friheden loaded with fun and action.

Copenhagen, Denmark

The storybook charm of Denmark’s capital is symbolized by the famous Little Mermaid statue and is sophisticated, saucy and friendly. Whether strolling through blooming flowers in Tivoli Gardens, witnessing the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace, or touring Kronborg Castle, which was the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, it’s easy to see why Copenhagen grew to become the capital of Denmark. And, if you believe all the survey reports about this cheerful city, not only will you find yourself in one of the most cosmopolitan Nordic capitals, but you’ll observe some of the happiest and positive thinking locals on Earth. With picturesque townhouses splashed in more color than a box of crayons, this delightful destination has a real flair for design. The quaint cobblestone streets, scenic landscapes, and charming cafes will attest to the country’s dedication to this concept of welcoming warmth and kindness. Relax on a short boat ride down its waterways passing scenic landmarks old and new. And, depending on the time of year, you may just catch many of the exhibits and works of art on public display in the city parks, gardens, and zoos. Copenhagen is one of Europe’s loveliest capitals.
