Dear Friends,
I was talking with a friend today about maintaining balance. My bicycle in my garage is calling me to ride it. And when I do, as long as I keep moving forward, it is very easy to maintain my balance. When I slow too much, or stop, it wobbles and tips. So many things are that way, aren’t they? That’s why we plan ahead. That’s why we are thinking of this cruise all these months in advance. When I spend time each day looking forward in happy anticipation I don’t wobble, or topple.
That’s what I am doing as I think about this delicious Alaskan cruise coming up next summer. The thought of it thrills me, more now than ever before. I am thrilled thinking about walking up the gangway, boarding this magnificent vessel, and meeting the smiling crew lined up offering us champagne.
There is no happier travel for me than the comfort and well-being that Celebrity provides for us as we move from one beautiful port to another, playing with one another, loving each other, and learning together.
It will be so very nice to see you.
Our love,
Esther

7 Night Cruise Itinerary Celebrity Cruises –Solstice
Celebrity Cruises has been voted “the World’s Best Large Ship Cruise Line” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
Ports of Call and
Cruising Highlights
Seattle, Washington
Bounded by the Puget Sound to the west and Lake Washington to the east, and surrounded by forests and mountains, Seattle, Washington boasts a stunning location. Visitors are spoiled with a choice of things to do in Seattle, with iconic attractions like the waterfront, Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass and Pike Place Market all easily accessible.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Ketchikan is Alaska’s first major landfall as you enter the picturesque fjords of the Inside Passage, where the town clings to the banks of the Tongass Narrows, flanked by green forests. Ketchikan has long been a hub of salmon-fishing where visitors savor fresh seafood at local restaurants. It is also one of the best spots along the Inside Passage to explore the rich cultural sights of Native Alaskan nations like the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian.
Scenic Cruising Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier
Alaska’s Endicott Arm Fjord marks the southern edge of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness area. As you sail through its 30-mile-long stretch, you can’t help but be amazed by the untouched beauty of the surrounding granite mountains, verdant valleys and numerous waterfalls. Drifting icebergs, deep blue waters and a spectacular tidewater glacier only add to this natural spectacle’s appeal. Endicott Arm is one of the largest breeding grounds for harbor seals on the planet. Along the shore you might also glimpse brown bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, deer, moose and wolves. Your journey through scenic Endicott Arm Fjord ends with a front-row view of the striking Dawes Glacier. Standing over 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide, this very active icecap is known for its spectacular calving displays which noisily produce huge, chunky icebergs that float in area waters.
Juneau, Alaska
Juneau, Alaska may well be the most remote, most beautiful and strangest state capital in the United States. Surrounded by water, forest and mountain sights, visitors seeking things to do in Juneau indoors and outdoors can hike a glacier, eat fresh-caught fish on a seaside patio and tour a grand capitol building all in one day. The city itself is pleasant, but the real highlight of a visit to Juneau is tracking down some wildlife. You can hike up Mount Roberts to chance upon wild deer and bald eagles.
Skagway, Alaska
At the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, the port town of Skagway served as the primary gateway to the legendary gold fields, and quickly grew into Alaska’s largest settlement. Skagway has been reinvigorated for those looking to explore Alaska’s colorful history, pristine wildlife and unrivaled natural beauty. Much of the town has been preserved as part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, where rangers offer free walking tours around the historic district.
Victoria, B.C., Canada
Of all the cities in Canada, Victoria has the most British vibe. Extensive galleries are devoted to the history of the First People at the Royal British Columbia Museum, one of Victoria’s top tourist attractions. Whale-watching cruises and sightseeing float-planes take off and return from their excursions here and government buildings, museums, the Visitor Centre and the grand Fairmont Empress provide a dignified welcome. Take time for a jaunt to the famous Butchart Gardens, a truly stunning show garden developed on the site of a depleted quarry.
